Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean View 3 Bedroom Condo at Family Resort + Onsite Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
