Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean view condo in beachfront resort with balcony, pools, hot tub & central AC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
