Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean View Retreat: Includes Breakfast 14th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
