How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean view condo Sea Mist 50610 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
