Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View King Suite! Sleeps 4 Meridian Plaza 705 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
