Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Condo close to pools and Everything at the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
