Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View King Suite at Family Resort + Beach Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
