Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Private home close to beach, pool, tennis, golf, basketball, shopping & food ???? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
