Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefectrental:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Ocean View King Suite with Beautiful Decor Caravelle Resort 510 Sleeps 4 Guests has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a great stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
