Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Penthouse on the Golden Mile has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
