Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View Ste Includes Breakfast 11th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
