Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Views on Lake Magnolia has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
