Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Upgraded1 BR w/ Full Kitchen at SeaWatch ~ POOLS ~ BEACH Hot Tubs! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
