Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick yourrental home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Suite~Palace 2008 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
