Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Corner oceanfront 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
