Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.

Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
