Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best rental home:

  • First, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. OceanFront Condo with Dolphin Views - 2bd\/2ba Myrtle Beach 11801 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
