Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- To start, have your group select the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo w/ Gorgeous View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
