Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Charming _Great View _Family Friendly Building has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
