Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront fabulous view kitchen lazy river pools hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
