Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront King Suite Suite Accessible 6th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
