Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. OCEANFRONT-King Bed-Comfortable-Home-Kitchen-Beach-Million Dollar View-WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
