Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Suite, Myrtle Beach SC has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
