Booking the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. OCEANFRONT SUMMER SPECIALS SLEEPS 6 TO 7, HEATED IN-DOOR POOLS, CLOSE TO IT ALL has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
