Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. OceanView 3BR Condo 10th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
