Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Renovated Oceanview King Unit – 8th Floor, Landmark Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
