Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OctoBliss @ SeaWatch - Oceanfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
