Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Panoramic Oceanfront Views 3BR 2BA Condo Shore to Please! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
