How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A431 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Perfect Beach Escape has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
