Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Get the best rental value:
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Perfect Pet Friendly 2 bedroom condo with a Golf Course View! 1st Floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
