Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Pristine Oceanfront Oasis With Breathtaking Views- Camelot 1614 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, contact the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
