Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Putters Hideaway @ Legends Golf Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
