Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Just bring your bathing suit ! Steps to the beach ! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
