Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Recently Updated Double Queen Suite-Ocean Views! Sea Mist 51308 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
