Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Huge oceanfront pet friendly home with large yard has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
