Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Remodeled Oceanfront Condo- Beautiful Views! Steps to the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
