Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Romantic Beach Condo - spectacular ocean views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
