Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beachfront Romantic Studio Escape w Perfect View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
