Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. FAMILY FAVORITE!! NEW! Booking for Summer 2025 NOW! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
