How to book the best vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 9th-floor oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub & washer\/dryer - dog-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
