Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Oceanview Charm 2nd Flr 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
