Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanview 3BR Condo - Modern and Fun! - Sand Dunes 603 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
