Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Royal Ocean Retreat\/King bed\/Free parking has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
