Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Salt Water Stays - Relaxing 2-bedroom condo in Myrtle Beach with WiFi, AC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
