How to book the best vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sand Dunes Resort, North Tower, 6th Floor -Pools! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
