Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sand Dunes Resort, North Tower, Views, Nice Pools! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
