Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sand Dunes Resort,Remodeled,Pools,HIGH 17th Floor! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
