Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Scenic Views from the balcony at Ocean Forest Plaza Condos has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
