Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Seawatch Plantation- 1 bedroom condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
