Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:

  • First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Resort living in this 2BD condo with pools, waterslides, and lazy river has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
