Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sheraton Broadway Resort on Myrtle Beach- Spacious Two Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
